Patriarchy can be all pervasive and in one blink it can stand in any situation... one image that comes to my mind is of a foggy monster who can be defeated only through eye contact, the moment one misses looking, it stands strong again and again and again and again....

Definitely not if one is constantly conscious about it. In fact every male 'HAS' to be conscious about patriarchy and its ill effects all the time.
